FHC (FEEL - HEAR - CARE)
The First Prize was awarded to FHC (FEEL - HEAR - CARE), an innovative project aimed at supporting parents and caregivers in monitoring infant distress. The team, consisting of Eleni Kelli (Department of Chemistry), Kyriakos Zantis (Department of Computer Science), Maria Daniil (Department of Business and Public Administration), and Andreas Gelasis & Avgousinos Vitalis (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering), developed a wearable, waterproof bracelet that detects a baby’s cries and converts them into vibrations—providing an alternative sensory alert system for caregivers, particularly those with hearing impairments.

This groundbreaking concept merges chemistry, engineering, and business expertise to deliver a practical and inclusive solution for infant care. The FHC device has the potential to transform how parents respond to their babies’ needs, improving communication and overall well-being.

As First Prize winners, the team received:
-
The GrantXpert Award from GrantXpert Consulting, which includes a free workshop on identifying and validating the value proposition of their business plan
-
Additionally, the CYBAN - Cyprus Business Angels Network Award was granted to Elena Koutkoukou for the MediMate project.
